Today, the 22 children in Mrs. Diaz' 4th grade glass gathered
outside their classroom and created a botanical piece of art!
Fourth grade is all about California so they each were assigned a region and brought in a native plant and started digging! My kids brought cacti from Death Valley, and Lauren made a sign marking where our school is. I loved Brendan's rock pile for Mt. Whitney, and Bobbi's evergreen tree for the northern Rocky Mtns. Joshua brought in shiny blue pebbles and shells for the Pacific Ocean and Dylan brought in aquarium rocks for the Sacramento River.
Others brought in a wonderful variety of plants and even some seeds
to represent the other regions of this state of ours. It turned out very cool!
